It was the news of the week: EigenLayer was finally launched on the Ethereum mainnet. And the transition continues as 6 new “Actively Authenticated Services” (AVS) have also been launched. What are they ?
EigenLayer runs 6 AVS on mainnet
We remind you that AVS are intermediary services, i.e. applications built on a platform. They are individually verified through a strict selection process. This week, so this is the 6 AVS that arrived on the mainnet to join EigenDA.

AVS, which are secured by a re-counting process, are the building blocks of what EigenLayer will be. Here is a list of the ones that just arrived: AltLayer, Brevis, Eoracle, Lagrange, WitnessChain and Xterio. They provide key features: we find a native Ethereum oracle, as well as, for example, a resuming protocol.
These AVS work with code that has been audited and is open source for transparency. Now they have arrived on the mainnet, they will be managed by operators. Users will then be able to delegate their tokens to an operator of their choice to secure the AVS in question.

Multiphase launch for EigenLayer
As we have seen, AVS EigenDA was already launched at the beginning of the week. This is the process of making data available. So Eigen Layer is moving forward with its launch, but cautiously. Payments within the protocol have not yet been unblockedand the mowing mechanism is not yet in place.

EigenLayer is taking its time to develop this ecosystem of operators and AVS before introducing new economic features. However, the protocol carries considerable weight and has virtually no rivals: there is currently a total of $15 billion locked up on EigenLayer :
Its launch is therefore particularly watched, and could herald the start of a new era for Ethereum.
