As expected, once his conviction was handed down, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) appealed. His attorney filed the motion in New York’s Southern District Court.

March 28 Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) was sentenced to 25 years in prison by Judge Lewis Kaplan.
Unsurprisingly, the individual decided to appeal his conviction, a move the defense announced at the SBF sentencing. Attorney Alexandra Shapiro filed this request in the Southern District Court of New York:

From now, the case must pass through the second circuit and we still don’t have a date for what’s next. If an appeal can lead to a reduced sentence, it can just as easily have the opposite effect than intended. Remember, Sam Bankman-Fried originally faced up to 110 years in prison for all the charges he was found guilty of.
Currently, SBF is still being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
